Increase Access to Nature
Tesla Park as a nature and cultural preserve meets the need for more nature parks for underserved Central Valley residents.
Tesla Park as a nature and cultural preserve meets the need for more nature parks for underserved Central Valley residents.
Protect Tesla Park’s rare biodiversity, cultural features and beauty while increasing access to nature. That is the WIN-WIN.
Tesla Park is home to 42 special status wildlife species and 28 locally rare plant species. OHV recreation can be moved. Critical Habitat for rare species cannot.
How can the State say it is fighting Climate Change and then EXPAND, SUBSIDIZE and PROMOTE more motorized recreation? Tesla Park should stay a nature and cultural preserve with no damaging OHV use.
Access for all does not mean access for all uses. Tesla Park is not the place for damaging OHV recreation. Tesla Park should be a nature and cultural preserve.
The top 3 priorities stated by Wade Crowfoot: protect biodiversity; build resilience to protect nature from climate change impacts; provide more access to nature. Tesla Park meets ALL these priorities multiple times over.
